Jeanne Ann (DiStefano) Drummond

Jeanne Ann Drummond, age 59, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 22, 2025.

Born and raised in Wilmington, the daughter of Elaine (Kamenc) and the late Richard DiStefano, Jeanne was a graduate of St. Mark’s High School and spent the majority of her career in administration at Security Pacific.

Throughout her life, Jeanne loved spending time with friends.  She was often found enjoying live music, trying her luck at Delaware Park or simply taking a long drive on back roads - reminiscing about her younger years with her oldest friend while singing along to their favorite tunes from the 70’s and 80’s.  Once she became a grandmother, she reveled in each and every photo and update from her daughter - proudly sharing them with family and friends so everyone could see her beautiful grandsons.  Her daughter, Hayley, was her greatest accomplishment and brought her such pride; her grandsons were the loves of her life. 

In addition to her ornery sense of humor, Jeanne is also remembered for her kind heart.  She checked in regularly with friends and family, especially those who were sick or down on their luck - often making a call or taking a drive after dinner to drop off a plate of food to a friend in need. She will be dearly missed.

Jeanne is survived by her mother, Elaine (who lovingly cared for her throughout her illness); her daughter, Hayley Sweatte (John); her grandsons, Michael “Mack” and Jason John “JJ” Sweatte; her sister, Amy McKinstry (Jerry), and their children, Chloe and Will.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 11:30am on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00am. Interment will be held privately in Cathedral Cemetery at a later date.
