Jeanne R. (Semonelle) Casey, 81, of Newark, Delaware passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. Born in Wilmington on March 16, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Gennaro and Catherine (DePrisco) Semonelle.
Jeanne was employed as a claims adjuster with C H Hetrick Associates. A devoted Catholic, she was a current member of St. John the Beloved Parish, a former member of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and member of the Altar Society, as well as a former member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. Jeanne also served with the Healing Ministry of the Diocese of Wilmington. She was a volunteer at both St. Francis and Christiana Hospitals.
Her husband of 47 years, Francis T. Casey, Sr., passed away on May 21, 2011.
Jeanne leaves behind to cherish her memories her daughter, Judith Casey Quinlan, her son, Francis T Casey Jr. (Angela), her son, Joseph Casey (Christina); her grandchildren, Erin, Declan, Riona, Angelica, Liam and Catherine; her sisters, Catherine Conaway (Robert), Lisa Snyder (Stephen), Ann Loose and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene, Nicholas and Anthony Semonelle.
The family would like to express deepest gratitude to Johns Hopkins and Compassionate Care Hospice for their professionalism and kindhearted care.
Family and friends are invited to visit at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington on Thursday, June 3 from 10:00-11:15AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30AM. Interment will be held privately in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
