Janice Mary Sheets Molitor

Janice Mary Sheets Molitor, age 90, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 21st, 2023.

Janice was born on May 24, 1933 in North Wildwood at Dr. Mace’s Hospital. She was the daughter of Ralph and Edna (Denham) Sheets of Fishing Creek, New Jersey. Janice graduated with honors from the Wilmington General Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at the Wilmington General Hospital in the operating room. Nursing was her passion.

After raising her family, she returned to nursing at the St Francis Hospital. She worked there for several years before her final nursing career at Doctor Amara’s Office. This was her niche because she loved the medical field and thoroughly enjoyed interacting with her patients. Janice continued to take nursing courses and worked volunteer hours to keep her nursing license years after her retirement.

Janice was a member to the Wilmington General Hospital Nursing Association where she held many positions on the board. She and her husband, Joe, enjoyed their association with The Moose Lodge, The Turners Club, VFW, and Knights of Columbus. Janice enjoyed all aspects of life. She was a part of a bowling team, and she also enjoyed taking golf lessons. She looked forward to attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. She was an avid Phillies fan whether they were winning or losing. She took great pleasure in her summers at Angola By the Bay. Her favorite spot to sit was on her porch looking at Burton’s Prong.

Janice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph; her son, Danny; her grandson, Christian; her granddaughter, Jessie; and son-in-law, John. Janice will be dearly missed by her children, Joey, Michael, Melissa, Eric, Jeff; and her brother, Ralph. Her legacy will live on through her grandchildren, Sarah (Heather), Jordan, Chris (Kait), Mikey (Cathy), Erin (Mac), Sean (Emily), Andrew (Alison); and her 17 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, August 28th, 2023 from 10-11AM at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE 19804. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
