Jaden Gabrielle Stam

It is with profound sadness that we announce that Jaden Gabrielle Stam neé, Sintia François, age 20, of Pike Creek, Delaware, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, after a long struggle with her mental health. Sadly, the pain of her invisible illness became too heavy to bear.

Born on April 14, 2006, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, she lived in the Foyer de Sion Orphanage from November 2006, until coming to the USA on January 10, 2010.

Her Mom, Melissa Stam, adopted her as a single Mom and adored her.  Jaden was her JOY! Jaden's best friend forever is Kalkidan Endashaw, they met at age 3 when Kalkidan moved in 3 doors down and they were more like sisters and inseparable! 

Jaden went to Linden Hill Elementary School, HB DuPont Middle School and graduated from Saint Mark's High School in 2024. She was deeply passionate about music, the arts and her friends, family and menagerie of pets! 

Known for her silliness, laughter and beautiful smile, she loved to create and wrote beautiful poetry - one poem she performed at a St. Mark's Best Buddies event.  

Jaden had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and special and considered her friends more like family! Though her time was cut far too short, her vibrant energy and zeal for adventure left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

She will be missed forever by her Mommy, Melissa; her sister, Kalkidan; her Gma Kathy; her PopPop Maurice and Grandma Linda; Aunt Erika and Uncle Scott, her concert buddies, and her "boys", cousins Wyatt and Rowan; as well as her Uncle Chris, Aunt Lisa and cousins Alex (Maddie) and Kristen.

She was preceded in death by her adoring and adored Baba, Deacon Bernardus C. Stam.  Their bond was instantaneous and everlasting and they are now together in heaven. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek.  The visitation will be held from 9:30 - 11:00AM, with a Catholic funeral service at 11:00AM.  The committal prayers and interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.

Please use this time to check on your loved ones, break the stigma surrounding mental health, and remember that it is always okay to ask for help.
