Ingrid Linnea (Munson) LaPorte, 96, of Hockessin, Delaware passed away peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2026. Born in Cape May County, New Jersey on November 29, 1929, she was the daughter of the late John and Emmy (Larson) Munson.
Ingrid was employed with the DuPont Company for 30 years. A lifelong member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, she was an avid stamp and coin collector and had a keen interest in genealogy. Ingrid took great pride in designing and overseeing the building of her home. She also enjoyed time at the beach.
Ingrid is survived by her daughter, Susan Hanna and husband, Jerry; her sons, Carl LaPorte, Thomas LaPorte and wife, Nancy; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Norman LaPorte; her son, Richard LaPorte; and her sister, Helen Brandt.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Thursday, July 16 from 10:00 - 11:00AM, with funeral services immediately following. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ingrid may be made to St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 1301 N. Broom Street, Wilmington, Delaware 19806.
