Henryk Walaszek, 81, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away surrounded by loving family on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
Henryk was born in Rydzewo, Poland on April 27, 1944, son of the late Wladyslaw and Eugenia (Lazarz) Walaszek. He and his family came to the United States and made Delaware their home in 1996. A master tailor, Henryk was employed with Wright & Simon Clothiers, having retired in 2014 after 18 years of dedicated service. Henryk was a faithful member of St. Hedwig Parish, enjoyed time with his family, gardening, fishing, and took great pride in mastering many household projects.
Henryk will be dearly missed by his wife of 56 years, Barbara (Pawlowska) Walaszek; his daughter, Joanna and husband, Joseph Kowalski; his two grandchildren, Katherine and Robert. He is also survived by his two brothers, Edward Walaszek and Tadeusz Walaszek, both in Poland. He will be deeply missed by numerous other family members in the United States and in Poland.
Family and friends are invited to visit at St. Hedwig Church, Linden and S. Harrison Streets, Wilmington on Friday, August 1, from 9:00 – 10:45AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM, immediately followed by interment at Cathedral Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Henryk may be made to St. Hedwig Parish, 408 S. Harrison Street, Wilmington, DE 19805.
