Helen M. Ermak passed away at the age of 93 on Sunday morning, January 9, 2022.
Born in Wilkes Barre, PA on July 21, 1928, Helen was the daughter of Thomas Anderson and Helen Sapser. She grew up in Larksville, PA, where she met and married her husband, Ed. Helen was a devout Catholic and belonged to St. Johns-Holy Angels for over 60 years, where she was an active member.
Helen was a dedicated and loving mother who will be remembered by her family as a wonderful cook. She was an amazing grandmother who looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her retirement years, Helen enjoyed spending winter months in Clearwater, Florida, where she made many more friends.
Helen was predeceased in death by her husband, Ed, after 69 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by 3 brothers, a sister, her daughter-in-law, Bliss Ermak, and step-granddaughter, Stephanie Barry. Helen is survived by her children, Eddie Ermak of Highlands, CO, Debbie Mooney (Richard Barry) of Newark, DE, Linda Collins (Eddie) of Bettendorf, IA, Richard Ermak of Newark, DE and Thomas Ermak (Libby) of Bear, DE, 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit beginning at 10 AM on Friday, January 21 at Holy Angels Parish, 82 Possum Park Rd., Newark, DE 19711. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 AM, and will be recorded and viewable on Helen's obituary page at www.dohertyfh.com. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
Due to COVID, the family will not have a formal receiving line to greet guests and guests are required to wear masks.
