Gregory Allen Carr, known affectionately as Greg to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, in Newark, Delaware, surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with a long illness. Born on June 2, 1965, in Springfield, Pennsylvania, Greg's infectious humor and boundless creativity left an indelible mark on everyone he met.
Greg graduated from Concord High School. His early career saw him working alongside his father Tom as a carpet installer, where they strengthened their bond as a father and son. Greg later transitioned to a fulfilling career at Veolia and Jacobs Engineering, where he was a valued employee for 15 years. His colleagues will remember him not only for his dedication to his work but also for the laughter he brought into their lives.
At home, Greg was a beloved husband to Lisa Carr, recently celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary, and a loving father to his three sons, Colton, Casen, and Cooper. His family was the biggest joy of his life, full of pride for his sons and he was their unwavering pillar of strength and love. Greg's mother, Blanche Carr, his sister, Iris Sandoe, with her husband Bill, and his late father, Thomas Carr, were all part of the family that Greg treasured deeply.
Music was one of Greg's greatest passions. He was a very talented singer who enjoyed singing in several rock bands over the years including Crossroads Voodoo, a hobby that brought joy not only to him but to the audiences he entertained. His musical tastes were eclectic, with favorite artists ranging from Van Halen and AC/DC to Elvis and Michael Jackson. Greg's love for the Philadelphia Eagles was well-known, and he could often be found cheering on his team with the same enthusiasm he brought to every aspect of his life.
Those who knew Greg will remember him as the life of the party - funny, creative, and loving. His ability to light up a room with his humor and personality was truly remarkable. Greg lived his life with a heart full of joy, a spirit of generosity, and laughter that echoed in the hearts of those he left behind.
