Gloria F. (Iannacone) Walsh

Gloria F. Walsh, age 99, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. She was born in New York, NY, daughter of the late Gennaro and Clara (Squittieri) Iannacone; and was a graduate of Conrad High School, class of 1944. 

In addition to raising her family, Gloria worked in a variety of retail positions, most notably at Braunstein’s. She was an animal lover, enjoyed dancing, crocheting, and music of all kinds; she was a den mother for cub scouts and a longtime parishioner of St. John the Beloved Church. She was renowned for her homemade spaghetti sauce and Italian cookies and cakes. Above all else, she cherished the time spent with her family. 

Gloria is survived by her children, Cheryl Reinike, John “Jack” Walsh, III (Jeanmarie), and David Lawrence Davenport (Teresa); her grandchildren, Christine Reinike, Kimberly Montgomery (Robert), Ryan Walsh (Tram), Lindsey Furr (Tony), Kelsey Ferrante (Giovanni), Cassandra Davenport, Corey Davenport, Lauren Bricker (Eric), and Scott Vann (Janelle); her 12 great-grandchildren (with another 1 on the way); and 1 great-great grandchild. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Walsh; her daughter, Francine Vann; and her grandson, David. 

Gloria’s family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of the Lorelton and Compassionate Care Hospice for their care and support.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 11:30am on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00am. Interment will be held in All Saints Cemetery.
