Gina O. (Sacco) DiPilla

Gina Ofelia (Sacco) DiPilla, 95, of Wilmington, Delaware peacefully passed away in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, December 11, 2025.  Born in Chiauci, Italy on February 17, 1930, she was one of four daughters of the late Giorgio and Consolina (Primavera) Sacco who immigrated to the United States.

Mrs. DiPilla was a wonderful mother, homemaker, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was a talented cook and enjoyed hosting family gatherings.  In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, solving word find puzzles, traveling,  and visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. DiPilla was employed as an assistant chef with the Hotel DuPont and was a longtime member of St. Matthew's Parish.  Her husband of 60 years, Antonio DiPilla, passed away on December 16, 2008.  Mrs. DiPilla is survived by her children, Felice DiPilla and his wife, Kathy, Anthony G. DiPilla and his wife, Roseann, Joanne Gattone and her husband, Nicholas, and Michael DiPilla; her grandchildren, John Anderson (Courtney), Angela McNulty (Jesse), Nicholas Gattone (Megan), Deanna Kraft (Jeff),  Daniel DiPilla (Marisa); her great grandchildren, Owen, Jeffrey, Jaxson, Eli, Enzo, and Aria.  She is also survived by her sister, Ida Rapposelli; several nieces, nephews and their families.  In addition to her husband, Mrs. DiPilla was predeceased by her grandson, Anthony DiPilla; her sisters, Amorina DiPilla and Zelinda Muccillo.

Family and friends are invited to visit at St. Matthew's Church, 901 E. Newport PIke, Woodcrest on Friday, December 19 from 9:00-10:45AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM, immediately followed by entombment in the Ascension Garden Crypt at Cathedral Cemetery.
