Geraldine “Geri” Hudgins, age 74, of Newark, Delaware, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025 in the comfort of her own home.
Geri had a beautiful singing voice and a passion for music, especially the songs of Queen and Fleetwood Mac, which she loved to sing with infectious enthusiasm. A true people person, Geri had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever she went. She was outgoing, welcoming, and had a gift for making others feel at home. Her life was enriched by the many close and endearing friendships she nurtured over the years.
Geri was a gifted and imaginative crafter. She especially enjoyed embellishing hats—always a “hat person” in the best sense. She brought her creativity to life through every project, and her unique flair for design extended into every part of her life, from her beautiful jewelry to her stylish clothing. She took great pride in dressing up and expressing herself through fashion.
An avid collector, Geri had an eye for beauty and detail. Her cherished collections of Boyd’s Bears, Haeger Pottery, and Charming Angels brought her immense joy and reflected her deep appreciation for craftsmanship and charm.
Above all, Geri’s greatest love was for her family. She adored her children and grandchildren, and her life revolved around their happiness. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and a beloved sister.
Geri also held a profound and enduring devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. A true prayer warrior, she found strength and comfort in prayer, and her spiritual presence was an inspiration to those around her.
Geri was preceded in death by her parents, Charles H. Reynolds Sr. and Josephine (Krzanowski) Reynolds, and her beloved son, Harry ‘Jake’ Uhlhorn.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Donald L. “Don” Hudgins; her sisters, Helen Picariello(John) and Margaret Messervy and brother Charles H. Reynolds Jr.; her children Debi Klenk(John), Thomas Marino(Sonja), Donald L. Hudgins Jr., Jennifer Uhlhorn. Many grandchildren; and a wide circle of family and dear friends who will miss her deeply
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Holy Angels Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark, DE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Geri beginning at 11:00 AM.
