George "Murphy" Bush

George Murphy Bush, age 55, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully in Lincoln University, PA on April 11th, 2026 surrounded by his wife and daughters by his side.

He was born on February 13th, 1971 and was a high school graduate of Thomas McKean High School with the class of 1990. He was a dedicated employee of Acme Markets for over 36 years.

Murphy was a devoted husband and father, and a great friend to all who knew him. He enjoyed spending time with his dog, Irish, and going fishing in the summer. He was always going to yard and estate sales, thrift stores, and antique stores looking for the perfect treasure.

Murphy is preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Bush; his grandparents, Edward and Joyce Harrison; his uncle, Edward Harrison; and his niece, Haley Kelley.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy, with whom he shared 27 years of marriage; his two daughters, Colleen Anderson (Austin) of Wilmington, DE, and Lori Bush (Kaiden) of Lincoln University, PA; his father, George L Bush; his sister, Ann Kelley (Joe); along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and his uncle. 

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 11:00am - 12:30pm at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where a funeral service will commence at 12:30pm. Interment will be held privately.
