George E. Paulman

George Paulman, age 98, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 27, 2023. 

He was born in Wilmington, son of the late William and Myrtle (Smith) Paulman. George served in the Naval Air Corps during World War II; was a graduate of Drexel University; and enjoyed a long career with Continental Can Company, retiring as manager. 

George was an avid golfer and founding member of Cavaliers Country Club. He was proud to have made 5 holes-in-one; and was actively playing into his early 90’s. He had his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying small planes; and especially cherished spending time with his family. 

He is survived by his children, George “Skip” Paulman, Anthony “Bucky” Paulman and Suzanne Peoples; his grandchildren, Courtney and Justin Paternoster and Connor and Brendan Peoples; and his great-grandchildren, Reoh, Bodi, and Reese.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, M. Anne Paulman; his daughter, Nancy Paternoster; and his daughter-in-law, Teri Paulman. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, February 3, 2023, at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 11:00am. Interment will be private.
