Genevieve P. (Pajerowski) Rapone

Genevieve P. Rapone, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.

She was born in Wilmington, daughter of the late Leon and Mary Pajerowski. In addition to raising her family, she worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone.

Genevieve was known as “Mom-Mom” to everyone. She enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling, and most of all, spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her children, Robert Rapone, Jr. (Carol), Christine Rapone, and Peter Rapone; her grandchildren, Nicholas (Courtney), Caitlin (Casey), Brad, Rachel, and Peter “PJ”; her great-grandchildren, Harper, River and Peyton; her brother, Richard Pajerowski (Janice); her son-in-law, Gene Belcher;  her best friend, Loretta Gawel; and longtime neighbor, Peggy Hoban.

In addition to her parents, Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rapone, Sr.; her children, Mary Belcher and Paul Rapone; and her siblings, Leon Pajerowski, William Pajerowski (Joan), and Mildred Merlonghi (Domenick).

Family and friends are invited to visit from 10:00am – 12:00pm on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena Church and burial at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be held at a later date.
