Gary Gotfred Marshall, age 81, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025. He was born in Wilmington, DE on June 9, 1943 to the late Earl and Edith Marshall.
Gary graduated from Henry C. Conrad High School, Wesley College and went on to attend the University of DE. While attending the University of DE, Gary was a Journeyman Ironworker for Local 451 and worked on the twin tower of the DE Memorial Bridge. In 1972 Gary started his own construction company and later specialized in Pre-Engineered metal buildings. Several of his projects were in Florida, one in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, along with many in the Tri-State area.
Gary always had a wanderlust and spirit of adventure. He enjoyed sailing and even embarked on building his own wooden sailboat. He became a private pilot in 1985 and flew his own plane out of New Garden, PA. He loved taking his wife and son on many adventures to Block Island, the Bahamas and Upper Captiva Island. Gary also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle with his son.
He is survived by his wife Carole of 56 years, who was the love of his life; his son Eric (Dana), who he was so proud of. Gary is also survived by his grandchildren Blake, Kendall and Jesse Theodore.
