Gail M. Hartzell, 91, of Hockessin, Delaware, formerly of Newark, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Born in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania on October 5, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ruth (Waltman) Meyer.
Gail was employed as an Administrative Assistant with Conrail for over 30 years. She was a past member of the Eastern Star.
Her husband, Richard L. Hartzell, passed away on February 6, 2013.
Gail is survived by her children, Susan C. Williams (Jeff), George E. Phillips (Ann), and Karen E. Walsh (Ed); 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her loving son, Frank K. Phillips, as well as her sisters, Ann West and Barbara Phillips.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home , 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Monday, March 30 from 11:00AM-12:00PM. Funeral services will begin at 12:00PM, immediately followed by interment at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, Delaware.
