Frank Lewis Obituary

Frank J. Lewis, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday March 19,2021, after a courageous battle with myelodysplastic syndrome.

Frank was born and raised in Wilmington. After high school, he was employed at Allied Kid Company where he met Clementine "Cemmie" Billingsley. Frank and Cemmie were married on January 17, 1953, one month before Frank began his enlistment in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge, Frank completed courses at Goldey Beacom College and University of Delaware. Frank's education prepared him for his upcoming career as a sales representative for pharmaceutical and container corporations that included Norwich Pharmaceutical Corporation, Brockway Glass Company, Owens lllinois, and Gamber Glass Container lnc.

After his retirement, Frank and Cemmie planned and enjoyed family vacations to Walt Disney World and Cape Shores, Lewes, DE. After Cemmie's death in 2012, Frank continued the family tradition as the family toured lreland in 2016, 2017, and 2018 and vacationed in Phoenix, AZ in 2019. Frank was an active member of St. John the Beloved Parish where he formed friendships with the priests who served there.

Frank is survived by his daughters and their spouses: Mary Jo and John Ryan and Elinor and Brian Blackwell;  his grandchildren: Elizabeth Ryan, Sara Warren (Christopher), Daniel Ryan, and Jennifer Blackwell; his sister-in-law, Norma Billingsley; brothers-in-law, Michael Billingsley and Richard Mical; many nieces and nephews; and his friends, George and Lynn Smith and Richard and Beverly Stanton.

ln addition to his wife, Clementine (Cemmie), Frank was predeceased by his daughter,Francine C. Lewis; his mother and stepfather, Mamie and Stanley Rogalski; his sisters, Doris Kulakowski (Alfred) and Esther Whittaker (Robert); his grandmother, Sally Haas; his aunt, Eleanor Massey; and his in-laws, Joseph A., Elizabeth, Joseph S., and Francis Billingsley, Sister Marie Consolata OSB, Patricia and James Beatson, and Mary Elizabeth Mical.

Services for Frank will be private.
