Frances Anne Crowe (Oakes) Mose

Frances Anne Crowe Mose, lovingly known as Fran, age 72, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 17, 2021 with her loving family by her side.

Born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Fran was the daughter of the late Sergeant James H. and Daisy Fern (Brown) Oakes. She grew up in Owensboro, Kentucky. Through the years, Fran enjoyed her career as a manager in retail merchandising at Things Remembered, where she worked for 10 years. Before retiring, Fran was a manager at J.C. Penney at Prices Corner for many years.

Fran was a devoted animal lover and treasured her beloved poodle, Fefe. She was an amazing painter and had many of her artworks displayed throughout her home. Fran loved going shopping, especially browsing the shops at the beach. She enjoyed dancing and going out to eat, where one of her favorite restaurants was Joe's Border Cafe. Fran loved flowers and found peace spending time at Longwood Gardens. She also had a treasured collection of angels and hand painted Japanese china. In earlier years, Fran was an avid bowler in local bowling leagues.

Fran is survived by her beloved husband of 28 years, Robert A. Mose; her daughter, Shannon McKenzie; her son, William E. Crowe, Jr. and his wife, Michelle; her grandchildren, Megan Bishop and her husband, Keruvin, Barry Cronk, Jr. and his wife, Kelsey, Dillon Cronk, Cassandra Moore and her husband, Jacob, Lindsey Crowe and Sammie Crowe; her great-grandchildren, Serenity and Satori Bishop; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her former spouse of 22 years, William E. Crowe, Sr. and her best friend for life, Linda Cronk.

Family and friends may visit beginning at 4:30 PM on Friday, September 24 at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808, where a Celebration of Fran's Life will begin at 6 PM. Interment will be private.
