Evelyn Skibicki Smith, age 86, of Newark, DE, entered eternal life on January 30, 2026. She was a devoted daughter, loving sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and cherished friend.
Born to the late Anthony and Pauline (Maliszewski) Skibicki, Evelyn was raised on South Harrison Street in the shadow of St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church. She dedicated many years of service to DuPont, where she worked in the legal department, earning the respect of colleagues through her diligence and professionalism.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Dale Maclary and Aimee Smith; her grandson, Ryan L. Maclary; and her great-grandchildren, Emma E. Maclary, Khloe A. Maclary, and Ryan L. Maclary Jr. She is also lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ted, John, and Richard Skibicki; her sisters, Cecilia Christian and Loretta Figiel; and her son-in-law, Rex Maclary.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on February 28, 2026, at Faith Lutheran Church, 2265 Red Lion Road, Bear, Delaware 19701.
