Ellen Goyne Michael

Ellen Goyne Michael, age 89, of Hockessin, Delaware passed away at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, May 21, 2023.  Born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Lucille and John Goyne.

Ellen was a graduate of Wilmington High School, where she was a member of the Leader Corp and Choral choir.  She was an antique dealer for over 50 years, and also worked in sales.  Ellen was a member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) and a member of Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church for more than 60 years.  She was an avid cat lover, owning many throughout the years.

Ellen was predeceased by the following: her loving husband, James and a son, Philip.  She will be missed by her sister, Nancy G. Evans; her sons, Steve, Brad and his wife, Sherrie; loving “daughter”, Melissa; grandchildren, Megan, Kimberly, Randy and Elizabeth; step grandchildren, Sean, Kristin and Brittney; great grandchildren, James, Aiyana, Kiel, Willow, Catherine, Lillian and Evangeline.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Friday, June 2 from 1:00 - 2:00PM.  Funeral services and remembrances will begin at 2:00PM, with a gathering at Tyler’s Restaurant following from 3:00 - 6:00PM.
