Elizabeth A. “Betty” Bennett lived a life defined by warmth, curiosity, and deep connection to the people and places she loved. A proud Delaware native, Betty spent most of her life in the state she called home before later relocating to Port St. Lucie, Florida, where she embraced the sunshine and warmth she so dearly loved.
Adventurous at heart, Betty experienced the world with open arms—traveling far and wide, delighting in cruises, and savoring new experiences wherever she went. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures too: dinners and plays with friends, lively table and board games, dancing, and especially hosting gatherings where laughter and conversation flowed easily.
No place meant more to her than her church community at First Congregational Church. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she gave generously of her time and energy, especially through her involvement in fundraising events and fellowship. To many, she was not just a member, but a steady presence, a helping hand, and a dear friend.
Known for her loving, kind, and easy-going nature, Betty had a gift for making others feel seen and valued. She was fun, compassionate, and a trusted confidante—someone people could turn to without hesitation. Her presence brought comfort and joy, and her absence leaves a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved her.
Betty is survived by her brother, Edward L. Singer, Sr. and his spouse, Ann; her sister, Dorothy M. Beeson; her sister, Edith M. Welker; her brother, William H. “Bill” Singer; and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph R. “Bob” Bennett; her brothers, Clifford G. Singer, Jr. and George F. “Shorty” Singer; and her parents, Theresa M. Singer and Clifford G. Singer, Sr.
Though she will be greatly missed by her family and friends, there is comfort in knowing that Betty is now at peace. Her legacy of love, laughter, faith, and friendship will live on in the countless lives she touched so deeply.
