Nestor Royo Ang, 80, of Newark, DE peacefully entered the Kingdom of Heaven on February 5, 2021.
Nestor was born on October 31, 1940 in Davao, Philippines to Luis and Maximina Royo Ang. He graduated from the University of Santo Tomas Medical School in the Philippines in 1966, where he met his future wife of 45 years, Victoria. They married shortly after graduation. He moved to the United States (Wisconsin) in 1967 and then to Delaware in 1969.
Nestor enjoyed a long career as an OBGYN running his own private practice and working at the Medical Center of DE, St. Francis Hospital, and Christiana Care before retiring at the end of 2012. During and after his career, his patients would always comment on what a wonderful person he was and how much they loved him.
He was a devout Catholic and a lifelong parishioner of St. John the Beloved Church.
Throughout his life, Nestor enjoyed cooking, fishing, tennis, ballroom dancing and watching tv documentaries of war & asian culture. Mostly considered to be a man of few words, Nestor was a generous and loving husband and always supported his family unconditionally. His face would always light up when he was with his grandson Harrison.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria, father, Luis, mother Maximina, and brothers, Romeo and Jovito. Nestor is survived by his 3 sons, Nestor, Jr. and his wife Kerry, Vincent, and Anthony and his wife Lala, his grandson, Harrison, his brother, Loreto, and his sisters, Teresita, Candelaria, Minda, Perla, and Anita.
A private service for immediate family only will be celebrated at the Doherty Funeral home. A private burial will follow in the All Saints Cemetery, Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in memory of Nestor to Saint John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808.
