Donna L. George

Donna L. George, 65, of Wilmington, Delaware peacefully passed away surrounded by family while under the loving care of AccentCare Hospice at Wilmington Hospital.  Born in Wilmington on March 15, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Donald L. George, Sr. and Theresa R. (Bonvetti) George.

Donna was a graduate of Alexis I. duPont High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources from the University of Delaware.  Her love of children led her to a teaching position in early childhood education for five years, while her keen interest in fashion brought about a part time sales position with John Wanamaker Department Store for eight years.  Donna was employed with LyondellBasell Industries as North American Operations Manager, where she oversaw supply chain operations, contract negotiation, strategic procurement, financial analysis and project management.  She retired in 2010 after 30 years of dedicated service.  Donna was very happy to become an associate of Chester County Estate and Tag Sales in 2017.

A very artistic person, Donna possessed a great talent for jewelry making.  She also enjoyed cooking, interior design and spending time at the beach.  Donna was an avid animal lover who adored her beloved golden retriever, Woody.

Donna is survived by her brother, Donald L. George, Jr. and wife, Amy; her nephew, Tyler George and wife, Danni; her great nieces, Libby and Parker George; her step-mother, Kay George; as well as her extended family members and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Wednesday, July 29 from 11:30 - 1:00PM.  A Catholic funeral service will begin at 1:00PM.  Interment will be held privately.
