Dolores "Dee" Marie (Ferguson) Reynolds

Dolores Marie Reynolds, age 85, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

She was born in Chester, PA, daughter of the late Robert and Wanda (Biernacki) Ferguson; was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Moylan, PA; and dedicated her life to raising her family.

Dee met her beloved husband, James J. Reynolds in early high school, and they were married in 1958. She moved with him to Germany for 2 years while he was in the service, returning home to start their family. She was the “fun, cool” Mom when raising her kids, always involved with their activities, whether it was scouting, sports, school functions, etc. Dee also enjoyed reading, traveling, spending time at the beach, and entertaining family and friends. She will be remembered as the “life of the party” amongst her family and numerous circles of friends. Many loved Dee like a second mom.

She is survived by her children, Kathleen Reynolds Callahan, William Reynolds (Stephanie), Claire “Kim” Henry (Bryan), and Jim Reynolds (Cheryl); her grandchildren, Daniel Callahan (Jennifer), Kevin Callahan, Natalie Reynolds, Mollie Henry, Andrew Reynolds, Gabrielle Ciccone, Maxwell Henry, and Kyle Reynolds; her great-grandchildren, Edward and Jack Callahan; and her brothers, Joseph (Michelle) and David Ferguson. In addition to her parents and husband, Dee was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Ferguson and Sandra Fiegel; sister in law, Edith “Sis”Ferguson; and brother in law, Ralph Fiegel.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as lifelong friends.

The family would like to thank the aides from Aging in Place for their loving care and compassion, especially provided by Dagre (Dee).

A memorial service will be celebrated at 11:30am on Monday, November 17, 2025 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00am. Interment will be held in All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Shine A Light On Stroke or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
