David Eric Troiano

David Eric Troiano, 50, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 26, 2026. 

David was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 1, 1976.  He was a graduate of Deptford High School, Deptford, New Jersey and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics from Rowan University.  He went on to earn his Master’s Degree in school leadership from Wilmington University.  David was a middle school math teacher beginning his career at The Tatnall School, transitioning to the public school system in Delaware.  Prior to beginning his teaching career, David was employed in the support services industry working in group homes supporting adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. 

An avid outdoorsman, David enjoyed camping and cultivating vegetables in his home garden. 

David is survived by his wife, Diane (Miller) Troiano; his parents, Lewes and Virginia (Shaw) Troiano; his uncles and aunts, Nick and Dulce Troiano, Wes and Cynthia Shaw; his cousins, Theresa and Nicole Troiano, Kerry, Ryan, and Colin Shaw; his father-in law and mother-in-law, Paul and Shelia (Elswick) Miller; his sister-in-law, Tracy Lynne Miller (David Reimschussel) and beloved furry babies, Dizzy and Hazel.

David was predeceased by his sister, Anne Marie Troiano.

Family and friends are invited to visit at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 1700 Limestone Road, Wilmington on Wednesday, July 8 from 10:00 – 11:30AM, immediately followed by funeral services.
