Darlece E. Sullivan, 63, of Wilmington passed away on December 12, 2021.
She was a loving, protective mother and known as strong, determined, and compassionate. Those who knew her will remember her outgoing personality, stylish hats, and the way her smile could light up a room.
Darlece had a strong passion for fighting against child abuse and, along with close friends, founded a non-profit organization, Action for Children Today (ACT). ACT conducted a petition drive that resulted in the establishment of the State of Delaware Child Sexual Offender Registry. In 1991, Darlece and her friend, Pat, were honored for ACT’s work in Washington D.C. by President Joseph R. Biden, Jr., Senator David P. Sokola and Oprah Winfrey.
She is survived by her husband, Steven B. Sullivan; sons, Paul Corey Sullivan and Sean Patrick Sullivan; her siblings, Pastor Carol Michels-LaCorte, Sandra Munden, Kathy Pawley and James Perry. Darlece was preceded in death by her son, Steven Ryan Sullivan; mother, Edith H. (Hirneison) Perry, father, George F. Perry, Jr.; sister Carol McNally and brothers George F. Perry, III, Randy F. Perry, Wayne L. Perry, David Snavely and Paul Snavley.
A Celebration of Life in Darlece’s memory will be held at a future date.
