Daniel J. Strecker

Daniel J. Strecker passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 10th, 2025.

He was born September 17th, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pa. to the late Daniel R. Strecker and Margaret M. Strecker. He was married to Susan R. Miller of Lancaster, Pa. for 66 years.

Dan was a graduate of Georgetown High School and the University of Delaware. He was a member of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity. He served as a commissioned officer in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957. He enjoyed a successful 43 year banking career retiring from Core States Bank as a Senior Vice President  and Senior Credit Officer.

Dan was a long time member of St. James Episcopal Church Mill Creek.

Dan is survived by his wife, Susan; his daughters, Debora Strecker, Lisa S. August (Bob), Valerie S. Hall (Brian), and son, Daniel C. Strecker (Laura).

Dan was a loving grandfather to 10 living grandchildren, Kara Nungesser (Matt), Megan Lister (Jimmy), Kelsey Cantrell (Justin), Brent Hall (Phoenix), Erik Hollstein, Alissa Hall, Hayley August, Kaitlyn August, Daniel T. Strecker, Cole Strecker, and soon to be Summer Strecker.

Dan was blessed with 5 great grandchildren, Wesley, Ellie, Lainey, Hayes, and Theodore.

He is survived by his sister, Margaret Martin and the late Hugh Martin of Lewes and nieces, Ann M. Rolke (Bob) and Crista Martin (Lora).

A memorial service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church Mill Creek, located at 2106 St. James Church Road, Wilmington, Delaware 19808 on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025.

Visitation with the family will be held at the parish hall at 10:00AM, followed by a service at 11:00AM held in the church. The burial will be private.
