Cynthia “Cindy” Nourie, 73, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025. Recently widowed after 53 years of marriage to Lee, Cindy’s proudest years were as a grandmother of nine. She never tired of reading books, giving baths, making pancakes, attending concerts or recitals, or being on the sidelines of a field. Cindy spent her professional career in banking, most recently with PNC Bank and before that was an Avon lady, which she loved. Cindy and Lee lovingly raised their four children in their Hockessin home, where they lived for 40 years.
Cindy is survived by sons, Rob (Erin), Brian (Cory), Scott (Keri); daughter, Danielle (Matt) and her favorite people in the world: Graham, Adelaide, Benjamin, Claire, Colin, Quinn, Hannah, Joseph and Nicholas. She will be missed tremendously by her dearest friends, Marlene and Wayne.
Visitation will be held at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Monday, April 28, 2025 at 10:30AM with funeral service at 11:15AM. Burial will be private at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery where she will rest alongside Lee.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to Friends Home in Kennett at www.fhkennett.org
