Creamer Roland Herrick, known to family and friends as Roland, age 78, of Wilmington, DE, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the Wilmington VA Medical Center.
Born on March 31, 1948, in Wilmington, Delaware, Roland always had a passion for cars, trucks, boats, and fishing. He was an avid Phillies, Eagles and NASCAR fan.
Roland honorably served four years of active duty in the U.S. Army, stationed in Vietnam as a Crew Chief, earning his aircrew wings. He continued his service in the Army National Guard with the 198th Signal Battalion as a Sergeant, demonstrating dedication, discipline, and loyalty to his country.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Creamer Roland Herrick Sr. and Jeanette McCoy; his beloved son, Chad; brother, William Herrick; and sister, Sissy Herrick.
Roland will be fondly remembered by his siblings, Russell Herrick, Mary Francisco (Michael), and Margaret Ann Yeaschvich (Bill); his daughter, Doni Imme (Udo); three granddaughters and one grandson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. His kindness, warmth, and quiet strength touched everyone who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to honor Roland’s life at an urn committal service on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
