Cora B. Durgin, 88, of Millsboro and Hockessin, Delaware, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026. Born in Stone, Kentucky on August 28, 1937, she was a daughter of the late James and Texie (Murphy) Blackburn.
Cora began her working career with the Bell Telephone Company before becoming a fulltime homemaker and mother. She later became employed with the Brandywine School District, working as a cafeteria staff member for more than 20 years. In her retirement, Cora enjoyed being the “Daycare MomMom” at her daughter’s in home daycare.
Cora and her husband, Ken, were happiest at their beach home in Sussex County, where they enjoyed fishing, crabbing and simply relaxing. Cora also enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Her husband of 63 years, Kenneth K. Durgin, passed away on March 30, 2024.
Cora is survived by her daughter, Darlene Glazier and husband, William; her son, Forrest G. Durgin and wife, Karen; her grandchildren, Daniel Glazier and wife, Kerri, Ryan Glazier and wife, Devin, Kyle Glazier and wife, Alyssa, Shelby Durgin and fiancé, Delano Smith, Jarrett Durgin and wife, Caitlyn; and her great granddaughter, Teagan Glazier.
Cora was predeceased by her brother, James Blackburn; her sisters, Iva Hastings and Goldie Nemedi.
Funeral services will be held privately.
