Obituary
Clendia Guzman-Paredes, 66, of Bear, Delaware passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, May 27, 2023.
Mrs. Paredes was born in Nayarit, Mexico on August 31, 1956, daughter of the late Amador and Esther (Valenzuela) Guzman. She and her family came to the United States in 1986, settling in Salt Lake City, Utah, and made Delaware their home in 1997. Mrs. Paredes assisted her husband in the founding and operating of several Mexican specialty stores in New Castle County, including Mi Ranchito, Ruby’s Mexican Store and El Rey Mexican Store.
Her husband of 40 years, Jesus Manuel Paredes, passed away on August 26, 2017.
Mrs. Paredes is survived by her daughter, L. Rubi Paredes-Wilson and husband, Kelley Wilson; her grandchildren, Rubi Klendia Wilson and Rey Kelley Wilson; her brothers, Arnulfo and Reynaldo Guzman; her sisters, Elvira, Olga and Irma Guzman. Clendia will also be remembered dearly by all of her nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Holy Angels Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark on Monday, June 5 from 9:30 – 10:45AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM, immediately followed by interment in All Saints Cemetery.
