Charles “Ted” Evick, 85, of Wilmington, DE, went to be with his loving wife, Jean, one day short of their 63rd wedding anniversary. With a single tear coming down his face, he passed away peacefully surrounded by his only child, Donna, and his loving family.
He was a hard working man throughout his whole life. He enlisted in the Marines at the age of 17, and proudly retired as an inspector and machinist with Boeing in 1995.
Ted was an avid fisherman who could lose all track of time with a single twister-tail in the water. He prided himself in his ability to handicap horses at Delaware Park. Over the years, he and his wife made many friends there. He was also known to be an incredible storyteller.
Most of all, he was an unbelievably loving and caring father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family truly meant the world to him.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean (Zeszut) Evick; his brothers, Pete, Woody, Howard, Garry, Eddie, and Jimmy; and his parents, James and Josephine Evick.
Ted is survived by his loving daughter, Donna Yannucci (Nick); grandchildren, Tiffany (Richie) and Nick, Jr. (Alyse); and his great-grandchildren, Emma, Blake, and Bentley Dean.
Service details for Ted will be announced in the coming days.
