Catherine (Daney) Coleman, “Cass” age 88, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on August 13, 2022.
Cass was born and raised in Wilmington, DE the daughter of the late John A. and Mary A. Daney and was a graduate of St. Elizabeth High School class of 1952. Following high school she entered the workforce at DuPont where she met her husband, Ronald. Over the years, she worked as an administrative assistant including working with Father Robert Kenney on the startup of the development office at Salesianum High School. Cass was a class act who prioritized her life by faith, family and her lifelong friendships. She was a devout Catholic and she and her husband raised their eight children in the same strong faith. Her home always had an open door policy and she would do whatever she could for anyone in need. Every summer, she looked forward to vacations at the beach with her family, and any other cousin or friend who came along. Cass loved going out for dinner but even more, she found the most enjoyment hitting 777 on her slots at Delaware Park. She took pride in home cooked family dinners and a full house on the holidays, especially when her grandchildren were there with her.
Catherine was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Ronald M. Coleman; son, Gerard; siblings, Elizabeth Burns, John A Daney, Marie Daney, Marguerite Igo, Ann Bukowski, Agnes V Ryan, and Joseph J Daney.
