Catherine “Kate” Fetters Parvis, age 89, of Wilmington, Delaware died on Friday, July 16, 2021 surrounded by her family. Catherine was the daughter of the late Sarah Gilson Fetters and William Isaiah Fetters. She was predeceased by her husband, William E. Parvis; her brother, William J. Fetters; her sisters-in-law, Mary E. Fetters, Eileen C. Parvis and Margaret P. Kelly; her brother-in-law, Robert F. Parvis.
Catherine graduated from St. Elizabeth’s High School and went to work at the DuPont Experimental Station, from where she retired after 35 years as an executive secretary. Catherine was a lifelong member of St. Ann’s Parish. She enjoyed traveling and family gatherings. She loved music and, for many years, sang in the choir at both St. Ann and St. Joseph on the Brandywine Churches. She also loved opera and supported the Delaware Symphony. Catherine was a season ticket holder and fan of the Wilmington Blue Rocks.
She is survived by her nephews and nieces: William J. Fetters (Judy), Elizabeth “Lisa” A. Dawson, Robert J. Fetters (Martha), Sarah “Sally” C. LaRocco (Tom) and Brien J. Fetters (Peggy); many great nephews and nieces and great –great nephews and nieces. In additions, Catherine is survived by Janet and Jim Lafferty, Thomas M. Parvis, Mary Lou Parvis and Thomas Kelly.

Family and friends may visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 1900 Delaware Avenue, Wilmington on Friday, July 23 from 9:00-10:00AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Church, Gilpin Avenue and Union Street at 10:30AM, immediately followed by interment at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery.
