Carol Jean Peters

Carol Jean Peters, age 84, of Stanton, DE, passed away peacefully at her son’s residence on Sunday, March 19th, 2023.

Born in Blue Jay, WV in 1939, Carol was one of the three daughters of the late Bruce and Evelyn (Cox) Stover. Carol’s love of nature and wildlife originated from growing up in the mountains and was always something that stuck with her.

Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She greatly enjoyed being a homemaker and caring for her family. She particularly loved baking cakes for her loved ones, tending to her garden, and taking ceramics classes.

Along with parents, Bruce and Evelyn, she was preceded in death by her brother, Patrick.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Delmas J. Peters; her son and daughter-in-law, Delmas A. & Annette Peters; her granddaughter and husband, Samantha and Kevin; her great-grandson, Jack; her sisters, Joann and Barbara; her niece and husband, Tammy and David, and their children, Leah, Rachel, and David; and her nephews, Kevin Messer and his family and Jerry Messer.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10-11AM on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808. A memorial service will begin promptly at 11AM.
