Carol Anne Johnson

Carol Anne Johnson, 71, of Hockessin, Delaware passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

Carol was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Harold and Leona Johnson, along with her two brothers, David and Paul. After high school, she enlisted in the United States Air Force and trained as a Russian Linguist. She was stationed at Tempelhof, which is now a historic, decommissioned airport in Berlin, Germany. After two years in Berlin, Carol completed her service with the NSA in Maryland and later joined the Air Force Reserves, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant.

Following her military service, Carol earned her undergraduate degree at Illinois State University and later completed her master’s degree at Wilmington University with distinguished honors. She traveled across the United States as a consultant, eventually securing positions at Dupont and AstraZeneca, where she retired. After retirement, she taught graduate-level courses as an adjunct professor at Wilmington University.

Carol was a gifted singer and an avid reader. Her kindness and deep faith in the Lord were among her many gifts. Over the years, she formed strong bonds with many people, forging a chain of love and memories that will endure. Her organ donation has begun forging a new chain, helping four individuals with her kidneys, liver, and corneas.

For 34 years, Carol shared her life with her husband, Ernie Frisicchio and son, Derek Frisicchio. She was a loving stepmother to Catherine and a proud step-grandmother to Collin. She leaves behind a legacy of cherished relatives, including nieces, cousins, and friends.

The Memorial Service for Carol Johnson will be held on Saturday, February 21st, at St. Philip's Lutheran Church, located at 5320 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808.

11:00AM - Funeral/Memorial Service in the Sanctuary

Noon - Reception and Visitation in the Fellowship Hall

The family will greet everyone in the Fellowship Hall following the service. Carol will eventually be interred at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
