Brian Francis “FIG” Figarol, 53, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at his home on Monday, January 12, 2026.
Born in Wilmington on August 8, 1972, Brian was a proud graduate of Salesianum School, class of 1990. A truer Salesian Gentleman you’d be hard pressed to find.
While he was currently employed in the banking industry, his true passion was forging and maintaining lifelong relationships with practically everyone who met him. Extremely outgoing and sociable, he was known and loved by so many and always quick with that smile. Growing up in Union Park Gardens and settling down in The Forty Acres, Wilmington was home no matter where his path took him.
He loved to make people laugh. You may have caught his stand-up act at any number of comedy clubs between here and Los Angeles.
He loved spending time with his friends. He loved sharing stories. He’d literally give you the shirt off of his back but it would probably have paint or bleach spots on it because he was always working on something with his hands.
That was FIG, u digg?
Whether he was podcasting, bartending, running his power washing company or riding with the windshield down on the CJ-5 flags waving, he loved life and all the good things it had to offer.
He was predeceased by his father, Frank Figarol, who passed away on July 11, 1992.
Brian is survived by his mother, Katherine (Gallagher) Figarol; his little sister, Amie Figarol; his niece and nephew, Lillie and Desmond West; his cousin, Jason Gallagher whom people often mistook for his big brother; his goddaughter, Kiera and his loving extended Gallagher, Weldon and Passaro family members.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 1900 Delaware Avenue, Wilmington on Monday, January 19 from 3:00 – 6:00PM. Interment will be held privately.
A Celebration of Brian’s Life will be held in the future with details to be announced once arrangements are finalized.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Brian may be made to the Clarence Fraim Boys & Girls Club, 669 S.
