Beverly C. Wolfe, of Newark, Delaware, passed away on June 30, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on August 23, 1945, in Wilmington, Delaware, she was the beloved daughter of the late Freeman and Elizabeth Clauss.
Beverly’s life was marked by kindness, devotion to her family, and quiet strength. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Allen Wolfe; her cherished sons, Gregory (Amy) and Jonathan; and her adored grandchildren—Abigail, Alexa, Gretchen, and Landon—who were truly the light of her life. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law Kathy Luckanish and JoAnn Simmens, her brother-in-law Paul Wolfe, as well as many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A proud graduate of Dickinson High School and the University of Delaware, Beverly earned her bachelor’s degree in education and went on to teach third grade at Oak Grove Elementary School for four years. She later dedicated herself to raising her sons, returning to the workforce years later with LensCrafters, where she worked for a decade before retiring in 2010.
Beverly’s warmth and generosity were felt by all who knew her. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—reading a good book, dancing, staying active at the gym, and going out to dinner with her husband. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. Her pride in them was unmistakable and ever-present.
She was also a gifted baker, known for her famous desserts that brought family and friends together time and again. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, and the irresistible aroma of something sweet in the oven.
Beverly faced life’s challenges with quiet courage and grace, including two battles with breast cancer, which she fought and overcame with remarkable resilience. Along the way, she formed lasting friendships with fellow survivors, offering them the same compassion and strength she gave so freely to her family.
A celebration of Beverly’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 8th, at 3:30 PM at Holy Angels Catholic Parish, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark, DE 19711. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Paws for People, an organization dedicated to pet therapy and animal rescue—causes Beverly cared deeply about. Contributions can be made by visiting www.pawsforpeople.org.
