Obituary

Betty Brendle, age 91, of Wilmington, DE, passed away at home on Friday, April 22, 2022. 

She was born in the Montchanin area of Wilmington, daughter of the late William and Agnes (Thompson) Cannon. Betty was preceded in death in 2018 by her beloved husband of more than 60 years, Robert D. Brendle.

Betty is survived by her sons, Robert (Patti), and Richard; her grandchildren, Jennifer Heister (Joe), Amanda, Shelby, Cassie, and Caitlyn Brendle; Chelsea and Sarah Womboldt; and her brother, William Cannon (Joan). 

Betty was a graduate of AI DuPont High School. She dedicated her life to raising her family and cherished nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed annual family trips to the Outer Banks; and going out to eat at restaurants. 

A funeral service will be celebrated at 1:00pm on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church, 101 Old Kennett Road, Wilmington, DE 19807, where family and friends may visit beginning at 12:00pm. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s memory can be made to Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church.
