Rebecca “Becky” Longo, age 44, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2025.
She was born in Wilmington, daughter of the late Dr. Louis and Patricia (Bussard) Longo.
Becky was very involved with Delaware Special Olympics; bowling and tennis were her favorites. She also enjoyed playing bocce, listening to music, and dancing. Becky worked for “Waggies” dog bones, where she made many friends over the years.
She is survived by her siblings, Louis, Valerie Brown, Steven, Robert (Julianne), Anthony (Kristen), and Vincent (Melissa); her nieces and nephews, Ashley (Arsene), Victoria (Bennett), Alexis, Riley, Will, Isabella, Teddy, Robby and Jack; her aunts, Joanne Mayer (Frank) and Betty Longo; as well as several members of her extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Kevin Brown.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 10:30am on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 9:30am. Interment will be held in Cathedral Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Becky’s memory may be made to Special Olympics Delaware, 619 S. College Avenue, Newark, DE 19716.
