Barbara J. Ross, 90 years old, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Twin Pines in West Grove, PA. Barbara was the wife of Kenneth L. Ross, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage. Born on April 11, 1935 on Egypt Run Road in Landenberg, she was the daughter of Charles and Mary (Love) Bailey of Landenberg, PA. Barbara attended Kennett High School, class of ’53.
Barbara had a couple temp jobs over the years, but the job she took most pride in was her family. She loved camping, hosting holiday events, playing games over housework, playing cards with her card club, drawing, tole painting (quite the artist), and her grandchildren. Barbara came from a large family. She was proud of both sides of her family which included 100’s of cousins. Reunions were a must attend for her; catching up with everyone, laughing and telling stories. She had a huge respect for all her Aunts and Uncles and taught her children the same. She was known in her family for her cream of mushroom or chicken corn soup, sweet tea, Mom Mom’s coffee and her rice pudding. Barbara was one that loved to get the last laugh.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband Kenny, her daughter Sandra, and her daughter Cheryl McClain of Walkersville, MD. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Kalinowski (Dan) of Landenberg, PA; her son David Ross (Susan Eick) of Kennett Square, PA; and Steven McClain (son-in-law) of Thurmont, MD. She has eight grandchildren: Betsy McClain, Melissa (Michael) Mustin, Andrew (Jess) McClain, Courtney (Alex) Lewandowski, Jared (Juana) Kalinowski, Brendon Kalinowski, Brittany (Bryan) Hubbard, and David (Lara) Ross, as well as eleven great-grandchildren.
