Barbara Sue Gattuso, age 85, of Wilmington, Delaware, formerly of Dover, Delaware, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Barbara graduated from Wildwood Catholic High School with the Class of 1958. She later earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Temple University in 1980 and went on to enjoy a career as a pharmacist until her retirement in 2002. Earlier in life, she worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company and assisted at her father's restaurant.
Barbara was a devoted member of her Catholic faith community, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteering her time with administrative work at her church. She was also active with the Purple Hats Club and the Italian Club.
Barbara enjoyed taking long walks, traveling, shopping, spending time with friends, and participating in church activities. She will be remembered for her warm spirit, strong faith, and dedication to those she loved.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Francesco Gattuso; her brothers, Edward Schofield Jr., Steven Schofield, and Richard Schofield; her stepson, Frank Gattuso; her grandson, Nicholas Gattuso; and her step-granddaughter, Melanie Bredemeier.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Cirrinicione and his wife, Katharine; her daughter, Kim Cirrinicione; her stepson, Michael Gattuso and his wife, Jean; her daughter-in-law, Linda Gattuso; her grandchildren, Sam Gattuso, Amelia Gattuso, Matthew Cirrinicione, Maureen Coleman, and William Coleman; her step-grandchildren, Jason and Keith Bredemeier; and her great-grandson, Parker Coleman.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 345 Bear Christiana Road, Bear, Delaware 19701, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.
A committal service will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 240 North Tuckahoe Road, Williamstown, New Jersey 08094.
