In loving memory and with a heavy heart, we announce the tragic passing of Austyn James Wehry. He died at the age of 31 years old on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Austyn is the beloved son of Michelle Kwoka and Richard Wehry.
Austyn will be missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew him. His son was his pride and joy. Austyn graduated from Newark High School in 2012. His love for sports shined through, especially the years he played on the varsity football team. He was employed as an electrician for several years. He had a great love for fishing and an adventurous spirit. Austyn enjoyed spending time at the beach with his family and had a love for Pitbulls.
Austyn was a dedicated and loving dad. An avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, he enjoyed watching their games. More importantly, Austyn had love for so many. People enjoyed his spontaneous humor, and when he walked into a room, he captured the hearts of so many with his warm kindness and infectious smile. We will miss his dance moves, jokes, laughter, advice, hiking, riding bicycles down by the C&D canal, vacationing together, his big hugs and so much more.
Austyn is survived by his Mother, Michelle Kwoka of St. Georges, DE; his Father, Richard Wehry and Stepmother, Melissa of Newark, DE; his Son, Travis Wehry of Newark, DE; Sisters, Kayla Wehry (Aaron) and Madison Dusseau of St. Georges, DE; Brothers, Zachary Dusseau of Germantown, MD and Nicholas Dusseau of Fair Hill, MD; Step-Grandmother, Patricia Wehry of Newark, DE; Step-Brothers, Dave May of San Marcos, TX and Jonathon May (Chelsea) of Wilmington, DE; Step-Sister Ashley Masella (Thomas) of Middletown, DE; Nieces, Hayden, Jocelyn, Charlotte, Riley and Reagan; and Nephew, Kaiden.
