Anthony "Tony" John Zulkowski

Anthony “Tony” J. Zulkowski, age 87, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on Monday, August 18, 2025. 

He was born in Wilmington, DE, son of the late Anthony and Ann (Opechowska) Zulkowski; was a graduate of Conrad High School; served in the US Army; and enjoyed a 30-plus year career as a telecommunications engineer for AT&T.

Tony’s passions were classic cars (especially Cadillacs), following the stock market; and of course, his family. He especially enjoyed annual trips to Florida. 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Florence (Lesniczak) Zulkowski; his son, Tony Zulkowski (Amanda); his grandchildren, Juliette and Adam Zulkowski; his sisters, Antoinette Krause, and Carol Van Dyke (Wayne); as well as several nieces, nephews, and members of his extended family. 

In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Zulkowski; and his sister, Jean Ann Oakes. 

A funeral service will be celebrated at 11:30am on Friday, August 29, 2025 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00am. Interment will be held in All Saints Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Tony’s memory may be made to St. Hedwig Church, 408 S. Harrison Street, Wilmington, DE 19805.
