Anthony L. Tramonte, age 78, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on April 17, 2021 at home with his loving family by his side.

Anthony attended Grover Cleveland High School in NY. After he completed his education, Mr. Tramonte enlisted in the United States Army, where he honorably served our country for three years. After his honorable discharge from the military, Anthony then became an amazing mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Greenpoint, NY. He also served as an armed guard for Brinks.

Along with being a hard worker dedicated to providing for his family, Anthony was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He also greatly enjoyed reading, was a self-proclaimed foodie, dog lover, and animal rights activist.

Anthony is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Tramonte of Wilmington, DE; his four children, Gloria (Tramonte) Mirrione of West Chester County, NY, Louise Tramonte of Hockessin, DE, Anthony Tramonte of Northport, NY, and Jennifer Tramonte Tauber of West Islip, NY; and his 9 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Fortune Tramonte of Queens, NY; his sister, Cathy Grace of Staten Island, NY; and many nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 2-5pm at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 11am at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Anthony’s name to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023 ( and/or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (
