Anthony Sbraccia, age 97, passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late Antonio and Mary (Cardone); and served honorably in the US Navy. As a young man, he worked for the railroad company in Pittsburgh before starting his career in food service; first with ARA and then with Interstate United, a position that moved his family to Delaware. Upon retiring, he owned and operated Willow Run Beverage for a short period.
He enjoyed spending time at the beach and traveling. His handmade raviolis were renowned with family and friends. Above all else, he cherished the time he spent with his family.
Anthony is survived by his children: Michael Sbraccia (Brenda), Cynthia Nantais (Gary), Perry Sbraccia, Julia Sbraccia, and Maria Reno; his grandchildren: Jessica Morano (Jerry), Julia Reno, Giana Reno, Michael Nantais (Samantha), Jonathan Sbraccia (Ainsley) Jordan Sbraccia (Rona), Robert Smith, Sr. and family; and his great-grandchildren, Mason, Ivy and Camila Downes, Nola and Gia Morano, Carter and Chloe Nantais, Sammy and Gabe Sbraccia, and Michael Sbraccia.
In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Margaretta (Serdula) Sbraccia in 2014; and his 10 siblings: Carl, Adeline, Theresa, Vera, Ernest, Elmer, MaryLouise, Paul, Margie, and Tommy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am on Monday, December 29, 2025 at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit from 9:30am – 11:15am. Interment will be held in All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wilmington VA Medical Center, 1601 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington ,DE 19805.
