Angeline R. Beattie, age 93, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Born in Wilmington, she was the daughter of the late Amedeo and Christine (Montoro) Russo, and grew up in the Little Italy neighborhood of town. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Beattie Sr., with whom she shared 53 loving years of marriage.
Angeline was employed as a supervisor with Bell Telephone. As her children grew older, she made several career moves, and worked lastly as a PCA at Cokesbury Village. Family remained a central tenant throughout her life. Time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was cherished. She will be remembered for her quiet strength and as the “glue that held everything together”.
Angeline is survived by her children, Joseph Jr. (Pat), John (Donna) and Marianne Kalb (Erick); her grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew (Heather) and Mia Angeline; her great grandchildren, Jackson and Jade. She is also survived by her siblings, Rose Ann Sauers, Christine Jackson and Raymond Russo.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Andrew Russo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 11:00AM, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00AM. Interment will be held in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.
