Andrew Toy, 68, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Born in Wilmington on March 30, 1957, he was the son of the late Robert Toy and Frances (Grodzicki) Hamill.
Andy was a graduate of Christiana High School and was employed with General Motors Corporation at the Boxwood Road Assembly Plant, having retired after more than 30 years of service. He was a passionate Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan, and enjoyed classic rock music.
His beloved wife, Marie (Uniatowski) Toy, passed away on July 1, 2023. He was also predeceased by his step-father, Thomas Hamill
Andy is survived by his sons, Jeremy Toy and Pasqual Addessi; his brothers, Robert Toy and Edward Toy (Colleen); his sister, Frances “Nan” Malatesta.
A graveside remembrance service will be held at All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington on Tuesday, September 2 at 1:00PM. In honor of Andy, all are encouraged to dress casually and comfortably, with a Hawaiian theme if able.
