Alfred “Duke” Angeline, Jr., age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
He was born in Wilmington, son of the late Alfred and Lena (Cianfarini) Angeline; was a 1950 graduate of PS DuPont High School, served honorably in the US Navy and enjoyed a 57-plus year career as an electrician with the IBEW Local 313. Duke also played semi-pro baseball, fast-pitch softball, and eventually got into coaching. He was an avid fan of the Phillies and Eagles; enjoyed cooking, especially homemade pasta and sauce; tending to his tomato garden; taking day trips with his late wife, Theresa, and family trips to the Outer Banks. Above all else he cherished the time spent with family, especially his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Duke is survived by his sons, Mark (Luci), John (Cindy) and Alfred “Duke” III (Susan); his grandchildren, Leah (Bob), Kaci (Greg), Alexander (Giulia), Alfred Paul IV (Chris), and Michael (Abigail); his great-grandchildren, Hannah, Parker, Reid, Lena, and Ari; his sisters, Rena Giordano, and Betty Longo; and several nieces, nephews, and members of his extended family.
In addition to his parents, and late wife, Theresa (Sylvester), Duke was preceded in death by his brothers, Mario, Francis “Hack”, and William “Reds”.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Corpus Christi Church, 905 New Road, Elsmere, DE 19805, where family and friends may visit beginning at 8:30am. Interment will be held in All Saints Cemetery.
