Thelma Jean (Kauffman) Jester

Thelma Jean Jester, age 90, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Dover, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 1, 2018 with her loving family by her side.

Born in Hollidaysburg, PA, Thelma was the daughter of the late Paul Richard and Adelaide Jeanette Kauffman. She was a graduate of Altoona High School, as well as Goldey Beacom College. Thelma was a bookkeeper by trade. For over 25 years, she was a tax consultant for H & R Block.

In her leisure time, Thelma played cards; she especially loved to play Bridge, Rummy, Hearts and Pinochle. She will be remembered as a fiesty little lady.

Thelma was predeceased by her husband of almost 50 years, Preston A. Jester. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Houtman (David) and Renee Brooks; her sons, Ricky Green (Darlene), Randy Green (Linda), and Preston A. Jester, II; her six granddaughters and four great-grandchildren; as well as her sister, Patricia Lewis.

Family and friends may visit from 10 to 11 AM on Tuesday, July 10 at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, 2220 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE 19720, where a Celebration of Thelma’s Life will begin at 11 AM. Interment will follow at the cemetery.
